Sing it! Gas guzzling SUV's
In a sign of the times of rising gasoline prices, a GasBuddy member has sent us one of his recent releases, dubbed "Gas Guzzling SUV". With gasoline prices likely to continue to climb, Dennis' song reminds us of how painful prices are.
Which reminds me- I continue to see people trading in their cars for larger vehicles- are some folks still unaware that gasoline prices will continue to rise as the economy gets better? Let's make sure everyone is warned. Not only that, but the more folks driving SUVs and trucks, the more our demand for gasoline and oil increases, helping push prices higher.
Check out the new song, "Gas Guzzling SUV" on the website that Dennis has- dennisleclair.com To listen to a short preview clip of the song, click here for the Gas Guzzling SUV song. For those who enjoy music, I think you'll love this new tune. I'm already singing the beat! ...

Gasoline Blues: The Fuel Price Sing-Along
Posted on February 10, 2011 by gasmeansmoney 1
Music world, beware. Songs aren’t just about love and loss anymore. Musicians are taking the industry one step further and incorporating real-world issues in their lyrics. But did you ever expect gas prices to be a part of that equation?
As the cost of oil skyrockets, musicians are venting their frustration.
Take Canadian musician Dennis Leclair’s song “Gaz Guzzling SUV.” The tune was inspired after a visit to his neighborhood grocery store, where Leclair saw a woman’s SUV taking up three parking spots. When he saw her come back to her massive vehicle with just three bags of groceries, he poked some fun and came up with the following lyrics:
“Price of gas is killing me… Just filled up my SUV, now I can’t buy groceries,
Can’t pay the mortgage on my house.
Bail outs for the big 3, no one’s bailing out me,
Gotta loose this big SUV.”
Leclair’s fun, comical vent is certainly easy for an independent artist like himself to record; however, don’t be fooled– gas prices might have made their way into mainstream music without us ever realizing it.

Hi Dennis! I don't know if you remember me (you would remember me as Sacha Humm). You taught me at OUC about 14 years ago. I heard your Canadian Troops Song on the Castanet Home Page. It is awesome! I was quite excited to listen to it. I didn't know you were getting into music. It sounds great!

Hi Dennis! I am a very good friend to your sister of about 28 years. I want you to know that I heard your song about the Canadian Troops on U Tube with Captain Heather Davis. I really enjoyed the song. Dianne has told me that you created the lyrics and music. You and the others did a beautiful job on it. I congratulate you on that. I really believe that you will continue to do well. The very best to you. I am looking forward in buying one of your cd's.
